Legal notice and terms of use
Last updated: September 2026
1. Site owner
This website, available at hugorecovery.com, is owned by Hugo Herrera, a certified addiction and mental health professional (CAP, CMHP, ICADC) practising in Miami, Florida, United States. Contact details and the full registered name appear on the contact page.
2. Purpose
This notice governs access to and use of the site. Browsing it means accepting these terms as published at the time. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
3. The information here is not treatment
All content is general and informational. It is not a diagnosis, clinical advice or treatment, and it does not replace assessment by a healthcare professional who knows your case. Reading this site, filling in the form or sending an email does not create a therapist-patient relationship: that relationship begins only when both parties expressly agree to start a process and the corresponding informed consent is signed.
4. This is not an emergency channel
The form, the email address and WhatsApp are not monitored continuously. If you or someone close to you is in immediate danger, call 911 (United States) or your country's emergency number. In the United States you can also dial 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day.
5. Professional and territorial scope
In-person practice takes place in the state of Florida under the credentials stated. Online sessions are provided in accordance with the rules that apply in each case: if you live outside Florida, the first session will establish whether and under what conditions you can be seen, and where appropriate you will be referred to a practitioner licensed in your jurisdiction.
6. Intellectual property
The text, visual identity and design of this site belong to its owner or are used under licence. Stock photographs are used under the licences recorded in the site's credits file. You may quote extracts if you cite the source and link to the original; full reproduction or commercial exploitation without written permission is not allowed.
7. Third-party links
This site may link to external pages (certifying bodies, support resources, crisis lines). Those links are offered for information and imply no endorsement of, or control over, their content or privacy practices.
8. Limitation of liability
Every effort is made to keep the information current and accurate, but this is not guaranteed. No liability is accepted for decisions taken solely on the basis of this site's content, nor for service interruptions, technical faults or damage arising from use of the site, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Confidentiality of what you send
Anything you share through the form is treated confidentially, as set out in the privacy policy. Even so, no electronic channel is completely secure: please do not send sensitive clinical information by form, email or messaging if you would rather keep it for the session itself.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Florida and by applicable United States federal law. For any dispute, the parties submit to the competent courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida, without prejudice to any rights granted to consumers by mandatory law.
11. Fees and insurance
The initial assessment is free and carries no commitment. The therapy sessions that follow are private pay; fees are explained clearly before starting. No health insurance companies are accepted and no reimbursements are processed.
12. Changes
This notice may be updated. The date of the latest revision appears at the top of the page.
